Guest Post with Giveaway ~ The Stitching Hour by Amanda Lee

Five Fun Facts about The Stitching Hour

  1. In The Stitching Hour, Nellie’s neurotic tendencies hit an all-time high! She believes the new neighbors are vampires, and she’s draculaready to head to Arizona to escape all the drama of Tallulah Falls. As you may imagine, Marcy can tell Nellie firsthand that going to a new location doesn’t always mean an escape from all your troubles.

  2. Marcy is concerned that having grown up seeing some of the best special effects in the movie and television business, she won’t be impressed with the Horror Emporium that’s moving in next door. Ted reminds her that she also grew up watching some of the greatest actors practicing their craft and tells her to pretend the Horror Emporium’s exhibits are scream-worthy. Will the Horror Emporium be sophisticated enough to give Marcy chills? Or will Marcy have to fake-gasp her way through the rooms?

  3. Marcy’s mom Beverly returns to Tallulah Falls in The Stitching Hour for Marcy’s one-year anniversary party. Marcy had believed Beverly would still be working on her current movie and unable to attend. That causes a bit of tension when Beverly arrives and learns that Marcy and Vera have been up to hijinks using Beverly’s Hollywood connections. Beverly also suffers a health scare while in Tallulah Falls that causes her to reevaluate some things in her life.

  1. Beverly and Ted’s mom Veronica meet for the first time! Marcy and Ted mull over what the two women know about each other. Ted: “She [his mom] knows she’s a costume designer and that she lives in San Francisco.” Marcy: “Mine knows Veronica once put a federal agent in time out.” Will they like each other? Hate each other? Form a begrudging truce? I won’t spoil that for you!

  2. The Stitching Hour is the first book wherein the victim is someone readers have known throughout the series. Even though the book may be read as a standalone, readers of the embroidery series will find out more about the MacKenzies’ Mochas waitress Keira than they’ve ever known before. Like the reader, Marcy doesn’t find out these things until after Keira’s death, and she regrets not having known her better.

In the latest mystery from the bestselling author of Wicked Stitch, the future of Marcy Singer’s embroidery shop is dangling by a thread…

Marcy’s shop, the Seven-Year Stitch, is one year old this October so it’s time to party in little Tallulah Falls, Oregon. Aside from the Halloween decorations and festive stitching kits and patterns, Marcy’s got all sorts of celebratory swag, including Seven-Year Stitch key rings and goodie bags.

Unfortunately, her new neighbors might spoil the revelry. An eccentric couple has opened a haunted house next door, and all that screaming will certainly scare off customers. But there’s even more to be frightened of after a local waitress is found dead on the sidewalk with mysterious markings on her neck—and one of Marcy’s key rings beneath her. With no time to hem and haw, Marcy must act fast if she hopes to restore the peace to Tallulah Falls…

Amanda Lee is the pseudonym for author Gayle Trent. She lives in Southwest Virginia with her husband and two beautiful children, a boy and a girl. She is a full time writer/editor/mom/wife and chief cook and bottle washer, and she loves every minute of it. Okay, not the bottle washing so much, but the rest of it is great.
