The Good, the Bad, and the Fabulous of Being a Parent

Any parent will tell you that there are lots of ups and downs that come with the job. I couldn’t agree more. Here’s my list of the good, the bad, and the fabulous of parenting.

The Good— Tons of laughter: My kids make my husband and giggle all the time. Sometimes it’s laughter through tears but usually it’s plain old belly laughs. Whether it’s their unusual opinions or inappropriate observations, these boys keep us smiling.

The Bad—It’s hard: Being a parent is the most challenging job I’ve ever had or will ever have. You never know if you’re doing it right. When they’re little it’s physically exhausting. When they’re teenagers it’s emotionally draining. And this job will never ever end. I remember looking at my first-born and thinking…I’ll never have peace of mind again. Whether they’re nine months, nine years old, or fifty-nine years old…they will always be your babies.

The Fabulous— Unconditional love: No matter what happens…there is love. I’ve always told my sons, no matter what you do or say I will love you. Forever.

How about you? Is there an aspect of parenting that stands out for you? Is it good, bad, or fabulous?

Beloved author Sara Humphreys' acclaimed paranormal romance series continues with sweltering attraction between two vampires who have all the time in the world to satisfy their desires…

He wants eternity?

Dakota Shelton is a vampire cowboy with a penchant for cinnamon lollipops and Johnny Cash. Though highly skilled and deadly dangerous to his enemies, he's still a Texas good ol' boy at heart. And he has that heart set on wooing Trixie LaRoux-the most badass punk rock chick in town-the old-fashioned way.

Over her undead body…

Trixie is tough as nails and sharp as a silver stake-the last thing she wants is a man to sit on a porch and not grow old with. So it'll take going to hell and back fighting a new threat to vampires before she admits Dakota's courtship makes her blood hum. Turns out chivalry's not dead after all.

  2. I can tell you that no job will ever be harder and have so many rewards. Having 7 kids and hoping that I was doing right by them in all ways was and still is the most emotionally draining action I've ever experienced. I think that's because I was a single parent for the majority of their lives growing up. But now I see them as adults with their own babies and I'm proud of the parents they are. Loving them and letting them know that will never change, ever is number 1 I think. Evn though I'm still recovering lol
